This is the first issue of this magazine which promises to be an excellent magazine. Entirely in colour (apart from some WWII reference photos included) it features some superb modelling and reference subjects. Each article has comprehensive text to compliment the excellent photos in the magazine.
This issue starts with Doug Jameson revisiting the Tamiya M21, rebuilding it as an M3 Half Track covering six pages.
The next 11 pages features a Sd.Kfz.250/9 Neue Art of "FHH1" Czechoslovakia, May 1945 by Mirko Bayerl. As well as many shots of the finished model are a couple of WWII photos of the Sd.Kfz.250/9.
This article is complemented with a further four pages of excellent colour photos of a museum Sd.Kfz.250/9 Neue Art showing in detail the turret interior.
The next 10 pages is a Tamiya early Tiger I detailed using the ABER etched set by David Parker. This shows a vehicle of the first unit to use the Tiger in Russia in a simple but effective scene. Numerous close up photos show the model to good effect.
Following this is another excellent model of a Jagdpanther by Gunnar Jansson. It represents a late Jagdpanther from II.Pz.Lehr Rgt 130 in April 1945 using the Tamiya kit as a basis and again is represented with some excellent photos. The model article is followed by a four pages on the II.Pz.Lehr Rgt 130 in 1945 with some wartime photos and organisation chart as of April '45.
The next six pages feature a late war Dragon Stug III of Stug Bgd.341 in 1944 by James Blackwell. Again the model is well illustrated with some excellent photos including construction pics.
Alex Clark then presents an impressive Gulf War Challenger 1. This is based on the Revell 1/72 kit and if it wasn't stated as 1/72 you would easily mistake it for 1/35. The article has plenty of construction pics as well as photos of the completed model.
Finally there is a good reference feature with plenty of photos on a King Tiger discovered under a road in northern France some 50 years after being abandoned. The photos of the recovered parts offer some interesting insights into the markings are fittings on the King Tiger.
In all an impressive debut for what should prove to be a indispensable reference for modellers.

The second issue of this magazine continues the quality of the first with some superb modelling and reference subjects. This issue has a winter feel with three of the articles showing vehicles with whitewash finish.
This issue starts with six pages showing Dave Parker's nice build of the Coree Panzer IV Ausf A. The kit is in resin with etched details supplied and the finished model is well illustrated with good photos.
The next fourteen pages are on a DML JS-1 by Adam Wilder (subtitled 'Winter Wonderland part one'). The article has many step by step photos on the models construction, painting and weathering and the techniques shown can also be used on other models.
Following this is nine pages showing Phil Hyslop's build of Cromwell Models Panzer III D1 command tank which includes some interior shots from the tech manual as well as a few wartime photos.
A short reference photo spread of six pages has 32 colour photos of T72. There is some great close-up exterior shots as well as some of the turret interior.
Following this is part 1 of detailing the Dragon Elephant with the Jaguar resin interior. There are many in-progess photos showing the construction as well as text explaining the photos. This article will be continued in Issue 3 of AFV Modeller.
Winter Wonderland part two is a Russian T40 Amphibious tank by Doug Jameson and again has in-progress shots of the construction as well as the painting.
Next is an M-7 Priest by Vince Pedulla in the finish of the 11th Regiment Royal Horse Artillery, El Alamein in 1942 with numerous photos of the finished model.
Finally there is Winter Wonderland part three by Dinesh Ned and is of an M4A1 with the M1 dozer attachment. The model is well described as well as excellent photos of the finished model.
Another excellent issue of this high quality magazine for the dedicated armour modeller and well worth getting a hold of a copy.

This is the third issue of this excellent magazine and features some superb modelling subjects.
This issue starts with the Heller Somua S35 by Frederick Astier followed by a nice build of the Panther Ausf.G "Cuckoo" as used by the British 6th Guards Tank Brigade by Øyvind Leonsen.
The next 12 pages details with superb photos the brilliantly done derelict FAMO by Jean-Baptiste. Many photos during construction are supplemented with the excellent paint job of the finished model.
A short reference photo spread on the Panzer IV Ausf.A is followed by part 2 of the detailed article on dressing up the Dragon Elephant using the Jaguar interior set as well as scratchbuilt details.
Next is a nice article on building a 2.8cm s.Pzb.41 on Sd.Anh.32/3 trailer being towed by a Steyr 1500 by Thomas Anderson which includes some wartime reference photos of the gun in action.
The short section "Keeping Track" follows highlighting some new releases of interest and finally an interesting article by Rhodes A Williams on finishing and detailing a FAMO in a well worn Afrika Korps finish.
Another issue of this high quality magazine for the dedicated armour modeller that features some excellent modelling subjects. Well worth getting a hold of a copy.

This fourth issue of this excellent magazine again features some superb modelling subjects as well a nice reference material.
This issue starts with an interesting conversion of the old Tamiya M3 halftrack into an ACAV version used by the South Lebanese Army. As well as the construction article there are numerous photos of the real vehicle for reference.
The next 9 pages feature the New Dragon Panther A in an in-depth construction article by David Parker. David has added to the already excellent kit with extensive detailing using ABER etched brass with many fine close-up photos of the kit during construction.
Following this is a short reference feature with excellent wartime photos of early Panther As in Italy 1944-45 giving some good background to the kit.
A simple diorama by Graeme Newman featuring a Steyr 1500 radio car with some interesting groundwork is followed by an in-depth look at a Swedish S-Tank with some excellent close-up photos including interior shots.
Following this is part 3 of the Dragon Elephant build this time dealing with the painting weathering of the kit with some nice close-up detail photos.
Continuing the German theme is a build by Gary Edmundson of the Tamiya Sturmtiger with the MR Modellbau resin conversion to an early Sturmtiger, again there are a number of construction pics included.
"Keeping Track" a short section featuring new release information is next and this is followed by the final article is of an ACE 1/72 scale BRDM-2 by Alex Clarke. The detail in this small scale has certainly improved in the last few years as this kit shows.
Another issue of this high quality magazine for the dedicated armour modeller that features some excellent modelling subjects. Well worth getting a hold of a copy.

This fiveth issue of this excellent magazine again features some superb modelling subjects as well a nice reference material.
This issue starts with 8 pages on a detailed build of the Tamiya Churchill Mk.7 by Paul Barker. The model features a full scratch built interior as well as some shots of the real thing for reference.
The next 10 pages sees Darren Thompson add an interesting finish to a Panzerjager 1 'Ent' 605 Pz.J.Abtlg, in North Africa. The model is based on the Italeri kit with a rebuilt upper superstructure and gun shield plus the addition of etched brass to produce a nice model.
Following this is a short reference feature of Swedish armour on exercise and has some nice shots of Strv 122 MBTs, Strf 9040 MICVs and Pvb 401s up to their necks in rough terrain.
A simple diorama by Frederick Astier of an Tamiya M5A1 in a scenic settings is next in a short 6 page article with photos of the model during construction as well as the final scene.
Following this 6 pages of wartime photos of the Sd.Kfz.11 which offers some good reference as well as good diorama potential in the photos. There is also one photo of the late model Sd.Kfz.11 which will be the subject of future kit from AFV Club.
Continuing the reference theme we have another 6 pages of excellent photos of armour used during the Lebanese civil war by Moustafa Assad. These photos offer an excellent insight into the varied vehicles and the amount of modification on some of the some.
The next 6 pages features a build of the Zvesda (Italeri) M13/40 kit in a North African setting by Bernard Lustig, the model includes added details from various etched and resin sets.
"Keeping Track" a short section featuring new release information is next and this is followed by the final article is of a Revell 1/72 scale Cromwell Mk.IV by Antonio Martin Tello. This is a very nice little model and you have to look twice to realise it is in 1/72 scale.

A six page feature on painting green vehicles, the article is illustrated with numerous photos of the authors T-60 plus other Russian vehicles.
Snow Leopard Sweden's Strv 122 by Anders Isaksson.
An 18 page feature on building the Strv 122 using the Tamiya Leopard 2A5 and HKCW Strv 122 resin conversion. The article has in-progress photos as well as numerous photos of the finished kit and crew figures. Tips on applying the Swedish can scheme are aslo included.
Panzerbeobachtungswagen IV by Tom Cockle
An interesting 11 page article on building this unusual version of the Panzer IV. Using the Tamiya Pz IV kit there are many photos of the additional detailing of the kit as well as the alterations to make a well detailed and finished model of this version.

In this 13 page feature, Dave shows how to add those little extra details to make the Tamiya model stand out. The article includes photos during construction as well as many good close ups of the finished model. This article along with the photos of the real thing will be a great help in building the kit.

Defending the Homeland-Pz.Jg.Ers.Ausb.20 in NW Germany, April/May 1945 (Part 1) by John Nelson and Martin Block
This 10 page article gives a detailed chronological recount of the history of Pz.Jg.Ers.Ausb.20 during April/May 1945, the detailed text is complimented with period photos of the equipment used by the unit during that time.
'Naked Desperation' STZ T-34/76 (Part 1) of Adam Wilder
15 pages describe in great detail the construcion/conversion of the DML T-34/85 into the STZ T-34/76 with the use of resin and etched parts plus plastic card to scratch some parts. The article includes 72 photos during the construction process.
Face Facts is a two page article on painting faces on figures. Five steps with good size photos show the basic techniques to get a lifelike face using Hornet heads as a basis.
Keeping Track - New releases
The usual run down on new products for the modeller with brief descriptions and photos of the products featured.
Euro Militaire 2002 photo report

This 10 page feature is of a mostly scatchbuilt Luchs with bits from the ICM and Techmod kits plus Aber brass and Modelkasten tracks to produce a well detailed model with progress photos as well as of the finished model.
Xtreme detail - Marder IIIM
A detailed photo reference feature of the Marder III command vehicle from the Saumur collection, there are many interior photos showing some nice detail.
Lebanese Civil War Armour by Moustafa Assad
Continuing the reference trend this 6 page feature has some interesting vehicles from the 1980s Civil War, these include IDF M113s, M151s and M109 plus some assorted Lebanese vehicles with a couple of interesting T-55 photos.
Friend or fow? by Frederick Astier
A simple but effective 10 page diorama featuring a US M20 AUC and Sd.Kfz.251/9, both vehicles have extensive details added with some nice progress photos. The article also has progress shots of the base construction and photos of the finished diorama.

The final small diorama also has modified figures from the Tristar SPG figure set for an excellent overall coverage of the detailing and building of the Tamiya kit.
